Mr Paul Tymon (m)

Paul Tymon is a Clinical Pharmacist working in the surgery with the doctors and nursing staff, focusing on all medication issues. Paul ensures medicines from hospital clinics and discharge letters are transferred to patient records accurately and he communicates these changes to patients.  He also completes medication reviews and audits to support the safe medicines management processes within the surgery.

Community Midwives

A community midwife is attached to the practice and holds an ante natal clinic every Thursday.

The Community nurses work very closely with the team; caring for patients in their homes. They assess people’s nursing needs and, if required, can make regular visits to help patients in the management of their illness. Their aim is to help patients be as independent as possible.

Health Visitors

The health visitor’s job is to promote health and prevent ill health. The health visitor holds a weekly child health clinic at the Oasis Family Centre, Castle Road. Children of any age are welcome.

If you need to speak to the health visitor please contact by a letter addressed to the surgery or by telephone on 01423 557368. If the health visitor is unavailable please leave a message on the answer machine and she will get back to you as soon as she can.

Macmillan Nurses

Macmillan nurses provide specialist advice on palliative care and provide support to patients and their families in the home. They can help with day-care and volunteer practical help. They can provide bereavement counselling. They are based at St Catherine’s Hospice, Throxenby Lane, Scarborough; telephone 351421.
