Our nurse practitioners run a same day access system called triage. They can diagnose and treat many medical conditions and will see patients who have traditionally consulted a doctor. The nurse practitioners will take any necessary advice from a doctor or refer you to see a doctor if this is necessary.

Our Frailty Team Care-Co-Ordinators are Julie Graham and Sarah Stow. The Care Co-Ordinator role aims to enable and support patients to reach their optimum level of independence in their own homes as part of an integrated team approach. Our Community Care Assistant is Karen Brook-Hutton.

 

Mr Billy Gibson (m)

Acute Care Practitioner

 


Billy Gibson is our Acute Care Practitioner and has extensive experience as a Paramedic. He has done extended training and has worked extensively in out of hours and in GP surgeries.


Billy will deal with acute on the day care and so will be helping GPs and NPs by dealing with telephone calls, clinics and visits for those needing urgent on the day care.

The nursing team run a whole variety of health promotion clinics, infant and adult immunisation, cervical smears, wound dressing, removal of sutures, ear syringing, asthma, diabetes and hypertension monitoring, heart disease prevention monitoring, 11-17 year olds health advice, ECG’s, advising on contraception, HRT checks, advice on dietary control, stop smoking advice; travel issues and vaccinations.


The nursing team work closely with the doctors for the benefit of you.

These are nurses with special experience of people’s emotional and psychological needs. They work closely with the team to ensure your emotional good health.

Healthcare Assistants

Our healthcare assistants run a variety of clinics. They are responsible for taking blood tests, measuring blood pressure, well woman and well man checks, stop smoking advice, assisting the doctor in minor surgery, new patient health checks and many other clinics.
