Urgent Morning Same Day Assessment (Triage)

When you contact us with a problem you think cannot wait for a routine pre-bookable appointment we operate a same day telephone call back system (triage) every morning between 8.00 – 9.00am. This is to make sure that your problem, following clinical assessment over the telephone, is dealt with by the most appropriate person:-
The Receptionist will ask you for a contact telephone number and brief details of your problem.
One of our highly qualified Clinicians will ring you back (usually within 1-2 hours). They will discuss your problem in more detail with you over the telephone. This helps them to decide, with you, who will be the best person at the Practice to help you and when this should be.
They will either:
- Deal with your problem themselves over the telephone or ask you to come down and see them.
- Make arrangements for someone else in the team to call you back.
- Book you an appointment with the most appropriate Clinician (a Doctor, Nurse or Health Care Assistant or on occasions someone else in the extended health care team for example a Community Nurse).
- Hand the call over to a GP who may decide to visit you at home.
